Cats Under the Stars

The Grateful Dead are on tour. I went to the show last night at the Izod Center so it seemed appropriate to pay homage to some of the album covers done by the amazing Rick Griffin and Stanley Mouse.

I need, I want, I lust, Animal

Today's Lust items from Ebay . At $3750 I won't be buying the Lion ring anytime soon but that double strand Anne Klein might win me over before the auction ends.

New Jersey Shore

Since it was our first sunny and HOT! weekend I drove down to the Jersey Shore. These were some of my animal inspirations.

YSL Rare Vintage

I came across this vintage YSL.

Always in Trend

One of my favorite things about animal print is that its timeless. Yes it's "trending" now but this slide show from style.com just proves that no matter what era it is, animals and animal prints have had a presence in fashion. Whether it is from eighties Krizia collections or current Eley Kishimoto it is pretty clear that the animal print will not be extinct anytime soon.

I need, I want, I lust, Animal

I actually don't usually wear snakes but they are animals and these references are so beautiful.

Eyes Of Laura Mars

Eyes of Laura Mars is an amazing film from 1978. It is about a high-fashion photographer that can see a crime as it's happening through the lens of her camera. If you want a full critique you have to see my friend's movie blog. She covers this gem as well as many other must see cult classics. If you want to see some of the most amazing fashion including tons of animal print you have to rent the movie.

Chiller Expo

This weekend I went to the Chiller Expo in Parsippany, NJ.  After about a 2 hour commute we arrived about 1 hour before closing. Unfortunately everyone was closing up or had gone home by that point. We missed Lou  Ferrigno, Peter Criss, Mark Slaughter to name a few. But I did get a chance to see Ken Kelly and pick up a signed print from him. He's one of the most amazing fantasy artists of our times. It was an awesome crowd and tons of amazing things to look at. I'm definitely going to go earlier next year so I can see more. Since we arrived so late I didn't get alot of photos but here are some links to some of the people there this weekend.

I'm Hungry

I'm a vegetarian but these non meat animal dishes look yummy...I'm hungry.  My favorite is from Jasmine Rae Bakery in SF. I also found some really awesome 3-d cakes from the UK. And I love the homemade animal crackers...so precious.

Zebra

I found a ton of zebra  today. Marc Jacobs has the cutest tote and eBay has so many zebra stripes I'm seeing spots!
