We spent one night in Memphis. Beale Street was a big disappointment. It felt like a Jersey boardwalk mixed with the dirtiest street in New Orleans French Quarter.

I bet at one time, when it was less commercial and the economy was better, it probably had more soul. There were some great music though. We went to Rum Boogie Cafe and caught the end of some great live music. Inside the ceilings were lined with over 150 signed guitars.
